WE'RE BLUSHING
From Katie Favazza's Townhall blog, a post entitled "To George Will--and others who are hesitant to support Romney":
After reading George Will's column this weekend, I suggest that he--and any others who are feeling hesitant about Mitt Romney--check out a new website to address concerns regarding Romney's run for president: Evangelicals for Mitt. You read that right--Evangelicals for Mitt. Yes, I realize I am not an Evangelical, but I like what they are doing and they have nearly convinced me to sign up for their side... (for Mitt, that is... not for the evangelical movement).
George, I'd recommend you start with these links:
Why we support Governor Romney
Governor Romney on the Issues
A compelling story of a pro-life conversionThen, after the site has your attention, perhaps you'll consider signing up for their mailing list.
How did I learn about Evangelicals for Mitt, you might ask? Well, Steve Muscatello, close friend and former Townhall editor, is one of the contributors. Charles Mitchell started the whole thing, and any of you students who have gone to the Leadership Institute for help with a student paper know who he is. Both of these guys and their fellow contributors are doing great work and whether you agree or not, I suggest you at least check out what they have to say.
Let me be clear: I'm not ready to sign on board for any one particular candidate for 2008. That being said, and speaking as someone who has an open mind and is still willing to be persuaded a bit, Evangelicals for Mitt has the most convincing and compelling material I've seen for any potential candidate.
