THE CRUNCHY CON DISCOVERS EFM

Over the weekend I noticed that Rod "Crunchy Con" Dreher has spotted EFM. His take on a Mormon for President? "I honestly don't see what the problem is."

One thing I've noticed (and you'll see this if you peruse the "Notable Quotes" section of our site) is the absence of any prominent religious or secular conservative who says, "I wont' vote for a Mormon." Since the media mentions the "problem" of the Governor's religion in virtually every major story about him, you would have thought that the would have found one prominent religious conservative who's willing to say, "No, I won't support him and neither should other Christians."

The emerging (and appropriate) conventional wisdom is exactly what we've been saying all along: we're electing a president, not a pastor. Or, as Richard Land has said, "We are not electing a theologian-in-chief. We are electing a commander-in-chief."
