In answer to Steve's question, yes, Governor Huckabee should drop out. But here is a prediction: He will not do so anytime soon. He is siphoning votes from Governor Romney, and I think he now sees that as his role, with the end result being the vice-presidential slot on a McCain ticket. And to be honest, that frightens me even more than the prospect of a President McCain -- because he has hinted (not promised, as Ramesh Ponnuru recommended) that he will only serve one term.

Of course, I hope this prediction turns out just as wrong as my refusal to believe Mayor Giuliani had really cratered. I think the fact that so much of his support went to Senator McCain was what produced the latter's victory.
