MORE POLLS

Quinnipiac's latest national poll has two interesting tidbits. First, Governor Romney is in second place among registered Republicans:

Giuliani: 28
Romney: 15
Thompson: 12
McCain: 11
Gingrich: 7
Huckabee: 2
Paul: 2
Brownback: 1
Hunter: 1

The second interesting thing is that 55 percent of the poll's total respondents (not just Republicans) say they don't know enough about Governor Romney to offer an opinion whether they think of him favorably or not. That's double the number who said the same of Mayor Giuliani or Senator McCain.

What does that mean? Governor Romney's got nowhere to go but up in these national polls, because he's still largely unknown--and as Iowa and New Hampshire show, the more people get to know him, the more they like him. Including, in the case of Iowa, conservative evangelicals.
