I'm deeply religious, fiscally conservative, a hawk on defense issues, and pro-life and pro-family-values. I've donated significant amounts of my meager income to Republican politicians. Just about every policy proposal I hear from Hillary makes my skin crawl, but if I find a Hillary vs Rudy showdown in 2008, the only decision I'll be making is whether to vote 3rd party or to actually vote for the she-witch herself. I respect the opinions of my fellow pro-life Republicans who would vote for pro-abortion Rudy over pro-abortion Hillary based on other issues where he is preferable. But I think the most collectively stupid thing the GOP could do would be to nominate someone who would cause a quarter of the base, and the lifeblood of the party, to go 3rd party. Count me as one of the base who might go further.
