Just as you (appropriately) say that you are not supporting Governor Romney for Pastor-in-Chief, as a Mormon myself, I do not want Governor Romney to be my Prophet-in-Chief. I would consider it wholly inappropriate for a President Romney to try to dictate religion for any person in the country, whether they shared his beliefs or not. I would certainly not want him to use his office to try to influence my spiritual leaders to do something that they would not do otherwise.

I support Governor Romney in this election because his values match most closely with mine. If he were still advocating a pro-abortion position, I would not support him, even if we shared the same religious belief. The Evangelical, and Catholic friends of mine that I discuss this with say the exact same thing. Values, judgment, experience, and leadership count for far more than someone’s particular brand of faith.
