Responding to my last entry, an astute reader notes:

I really think that the reason the MSM has picked up on this L.A. Times poll is, in my view, because they love the idea that evangelicals would shoot themselves in the foot by failing to nominate an exceptional presidential candidate that shares all of their key social positions out of bigotry or anti-Mormon sentiment. I really think that they enjoy the stereotype of evangelicals as intolerant.

Agreed. And this theory is bolstered by the fact that the media continues to play up the challenges that Romney will allegedly face in the primaries while ignoring that fact that Mormonism is least popular (at least according to the poll) with...liberal Democrats.

I'm going to make a bold prediction: Liberal Democrats will not be much of a factor in the Republican primary.
