"GAY MARRIAGE" AND INTOLERANCE

Today, the MSM is scratching its head over Governor Romney's view that having marriage be between one man and one woman isn't "intolerant":

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Thursday that his opposition to same-sex marriage should not be interpreted as intolerance of gays, who served in his administration when he was Massachusetts governor.

In a brief interview with The Associated Press, Romney elaborated on comments made during a campaign event dubbed "Ask Mitt Anything" in which an audience member was concerned that the government could prevent pastors from preaching that homosexuality is a sin. Romney said the government shouldn't tell pastors what they can say.

If you're a conservative voter, no need to scratch yours. While the MSM would like you to believe otherwise, there is a clear difference between tolerance and acceptance, and Governor Romney understands it. See our previous post on this.

I also thought Governor Romney's statement on the government's obligation not to tell churches what to say was quite good, echoing his comments at the first debate. And he's got a history of supporting religious liberty, as K-Lo has been pointing out for quite some time. See her column on Boston's Catholic Charities for more.
